Built by a vet, for vets

A sister and brother, fixing locum cover.

Fetch was born from a real frustration. After years of expensive agencies, unreliable platforms, and last-minute staffing crises, we decided to build something better.

Vets should spend their days with animals — not on hold with an agency. Fetch exists to make locum cover simple, direct, and fairly priced for both sides.

What we believe

Three things we hold onto.

Direct by default

Practices and locums work together without a middleman taking a cut. Fetch never sits in the payment chain — and never will.

Verified, properly

Every locum is RCVS-checked with verified documents before they can apply to a single shift. Trust isn't a feature you bolt on later.

Built with care

Designed by a vet who has lived the problem, engineered by her brother. Every screen is shaped by real shifts, not boardroom guesses.

Why Fetch exists

Locum staffing is broken.

The industry relies on locum cover, but the system itself is expensive, inefficient, and frustrating for everyone involved.

Agency fees eat into your margins.

Practices pay £100-300+ per booking through traditional agencies. That's margin that could go towards better care, better tools, better team pay.

Typical 5 bookings/month

£750+ to the agency

Last-minute scrambles

When a vet calls in sick at 7am, practices are left ringing through outdated contact lists.

No transparency

Agencies sit between you and the locum. Limited visibility into qualifications, reviews, or availability.

Repetitive admin

The same verification, hours, and payment dance for every single booking — every time.

No relationship building

Agency bookings are transactional. You can't build ongoing relationships with locums you trust.

Outdated technology

Most existing platforms are clunky, desktop-only, and haven't kept up with how vets actually work.

Meet the founders

The humans behind Fetch.

One of us spent a decade in consult rooms, the other in codebases. Fetch is what happened when we compared notes.

Minnie Liddell

Co-founder · the vet half

RCVS-qualified veterinary surgeon

10+ years of clinical practice and locum experience

Worked across small animal, mixed, and emergency practice

After a decade of locuming across the UK, Minnie experienced first-hand the frustrations of the current system — expensive agency fees, unreliable platforms, and a disconnect between practices and the locums they rely on. She knew there had to be a better way, and set out to build it.

Builds products that solve real, lived problems

When Minnie shared her frustrations with the locum industry, Harry saw a clear technical opportunity. Together, they combined deep veterinary expertise with modern software engineering to build a platform that puts practices and locums first — not agency profits.

The story so far

From kitchen table to nationwide.

The frustration

After a decade of locuming, Minnie hits one agency invoice too many. The idea for Fetch is born around the kitchen table.
